I went to the New Designers exhibition at The Business Design Centre in
Islington. The exhibitors are the best of this year’s graduates from all over Britain. This week it is almost all textiles. There is another show next week.
An almost overwhelming collection of pattern hits you as you walk around. Masses of talent.
I took a few photographs of prints and things which caught my eye.
Above is the work of Deva Daisy Booth from the University of Bolton. The rich golden ocre colours suited her mid century inspired designs very well.
This lovely illustrative work is by Lauren Burke who just graduated from Leeds College of Art.
Above is the work of Vicky Swales of Herriot Watt University. Again mid century inspired with rich ochre and black. A strong, spikey and graphic look.
Above and below is the work of Samantha Jayne Wood also from Bolton University. Her patterns are on paper.
