Hands

All images are taken from A Calendar of Hands 2012. Each lino cut was for a different month of the year, trying to match the image with something about the season, hence Hand on Heart was for February which has Valentines Day in it, Hand Picked was for September when grapes are harvested, the Hamsa Hand was for August, the month when Ramadam ended and hands are decorated with henna patterns. The Hamsa symbol is a talisman for Jewish and Moslem faiths and a similar hand is also used as a amulet in  Hinduism.
